Actually, Fluttershy's corruption required INFINITELY mre OOC-ness than any of the others. AJ began lying for noble reasons (to protect her friendship), RD's loyalty was just shifted to something else, Rarity's already shown a capacity to be greedy at times, and Pinkie's already demonstrated a VERY serious side in Party Of One. There is NO prior experience for him to work from. Discord had to CREATE an entirely new personality from scratch in order to make her act contrary to her element.

I think he could've made her A lier, an abandoner, greedy, and serious if he wanted to, but NEVER cruel

That's just it. I don't think it was even possible.

What about her little breakdown at the Grand Galloping Gala, or did Discord (or the writing staff) just forget that.

That wasn't cruelty. That was greed. Also, he's trying to encourage them to fight AMONGST themselves. Fluttershy stopped caring about what was going on around her but she never became outright malicious towards any pony during the gala.

There is absolutely NO WAY he would be able to make FS act like Flutterbitch without magic.

Why assume that Discord even knew about the Gala? All he knew about the ponies was their names and what elements they represent, and he could've learned that from Wikipedia five-minute research. No reason to think he studied them in-depth.

There is a MASSIVE difference between being angry at someone, and being cruel. Fluttershy was not ANGRY at her friends when she was discorded. There was a malice and a premeditated nastiness to her actions that I don't think Discord would EVER be able to inspire in the real Fluttershy without magic

I have to ask something, What would the opposite of Magic be? I would imagine it to be either

• Stagnation
• Entropy
• Anti-intellectualism?

Oi so Isolation it is.

So the element of discord would be:

disceitful, apatheic, greedy, malicous, miserable,

and soliterary.

^The Elements would be Deceit, Apathy, Greed, Malice, Misery and Solitude, yes. (The cases have to match up!)

The only one I didn't get was Pinkie's. What did discord DO to her exactly?

Oh and Moe? There are many things that I dislike. One thing I don't do is bitterly deny their existences.

The isolation element seems to run into unfortunate implications that loners are freaks.

Pinkie was quite easy to understand for me actually. He turned her love of laughs and used it against her by making her a victim of embarrassing torment. Thus to hide her shame from that, she became deadly serious and hates fun.

I said Isolation and not Solitude directly to imply the Solitude is ok while being forced to be alone is not.

The correct term is "Solitude" actually. And shouldn't "Miserable" be "Cruelty"?

I got what he DID to her. I just don't know what the exact EFFECT he had on her was. Did she become angry, depressed, serious, bitter?

^Discord made her believe that everyone was laughing at her, and that they only kept her around to laugh at her stupidity and incompetence. Thus, she became super-sensitive and defensive about everything.

About ponies that fell into temptation. Every pony was corrupted differently Exactly

1. Pinkie was brainwashed to think she was unliked ( not her fault)
2. Fluttershy was corrupted without ever falling (not her fault)
3. Rarity resisted the most but it's debatable of there wasn't magic involved in her corruption
4. AJ did fell into temptation willingly and even admitted that when she apologized to twilight.( her fault)
5. RD fell into temptation as well by profit issuing clouds dale (her fault)
6. Twilight fell into temptation of a abanding and losing her faith on her friends with no magic at all.( her fault)

Ehhh, I wouldn't say ANY of them were at fault. Discord clearly hypnotized both RD and AJ as well (the spiral eyes)

I think the opposite of friendship would be misanthropy, or misequinity (?) in this case, as opposed to isolation. Basically friendship is caring for others, isolation is being indifferent to others, and whatever this is would be disdain or hatred for everyone else. But yeah, the show does have some Loners are Freaks implications.

@Ginger: Normally, Pinkie Pie is willing to laugh at herself and thinks the best of everyone; Discord switched so she's doesn't like to be laughed at, and she naturally assumes the worst of everyone; that they're laughing at her.
