You could tell from the Tortoise's FIRST SHOT that he was going to wind up being her pet

For some reason, my favourite little scene is the one where Fluttershy convinces RD to let Tank compete, especially the way she hugs his shell. It's so cute

Took a bit longer for me, at first, I wasn't sure, thought they could just be including it as a way of messing with people that would expect the cliche. The point where I knew they were playing the cliche straight was when RD said 'cooler' and the tortoise put on some Cool Shades

favorite scene, super hyper ecstatic Fluttershy dragging RD off while nearly squeeing about all the pets she has to choose from.

Now, semi-serious question:

IS there any discernable difference between Coolness, Awesomeness, and Radicalness? I can't help but think that they aren't synonyms for each other (like RD said)

Spontaneous musical, hands down.

One other thing: turns out the one Rainbow Dash picks as a pet is the one that has a sense of loyalty. Go figure.

We don't KNOW that the other pets weren't loyal, because they weren't put in a position to test that.

The Tortoise helped her because because it was the only one that was there.

She was only going to pick one. Some of them were bound to be disappointed.

I really can't see them being set up as assholes cause that would raise the question of why they were participating anyway.

I would also like to point out that the animals showed no particular concern when the pony that they were all competing to be with was not there at the finish line despite being ahead for most of the race. Hell when it was clear the Falcon won the rest of them apparently just went home.
