Yeah, I think the fact that all of the trials were entirely voluntary helps tone down the dickishness a bit. Yeah, she was a bit mean to Tank, but it wasn't like she was forcing them to do anything dangerous. Any of them could have looked at the course and gone "You know what? Not worth it."

I did find it kind of weird how far they were all willing to go to be RD's pet. With how intelligent some of them come across I would have thought that some of them would have went "screw this game, I'm a going home."

Also what was up with that dream sequence in the beginning. Was that supposed to be prophetic or something?

She did say up front that they should back out if they didn't think they were up to it. I was actually expecting some of them to start taking off during the gorge scene at the end and she would realize she had been an ass.

I do kinda think those 4 pets got fucked over at the end. They did EVERYTHING that was asked of them, and the only reason they didn't go back for Dash was because they didn't hear her. For all they knew she'd sped on ahead of them. (which she'd been doing for the entire race)

They weren't being mean to anyone, they weren't being jerks. The only reason the tortoise helped was because he was there

so in a way, RD only picked the tortoise because it helped HER. Still kinda selfish

At least the falcon took his defeat gracefully. The thing is that the other pets were going by RD's criteria for a good pet, which at the end of the episode she realizes is wrong. It still sucks for the other pets, but it's understandable.

Also, the impressive thing about the tortoise was that it helped her after she had been complaining about him for most of the episode.

Well I say he was acting a little needy, but not stalkerish.

I do remember him talking out a pair of glasses during the song sequence. I really hope his shell is really a Tardis and we see all kinds of stuff come out of it later on.

Also how did he set up that stunt that he tried to do at the "radicalness" competition.

Note that Fluttershy tried to give Rainbow in order; a Bunny (her pet), a cat (Rarity's pet) and an owl (Twilight's pet). Clearly she hates Applejack and Pinkie Pie.
