I have to admit, in the beginning, it was also difficult for me to remember that Dashie was a girl...I'd attribute it to the fact that a woman voicing a tomboyish girl does sound similar to a woman voicing a boy (which for some reason seems to be the norm in the USA, not so in Germany).

About the question of favorite episodes, I should add that Applebuck Season is another big favorite of mine, if only for the absolutely hilarious scene where Applejack makes the "baked bads." It was the first episode I watched and that scene really made me like the show in general. I think it's because it reminds me of the stories I used to make up when I was little about characters who would get things confused in cooking (the usual running gag was mixing up flour with flowers).

1. Favourite Pony? twilight sparkle, I guess, with Applejack as a close second. I just love how these two manage to be amusing without having a few screws loose.
2. Favourite Episode? I don't know, really. I do have episodes that I don't really like, but I don't have a particular favourite.
3. What do you think of Pinkie? I grew up on Disney Shorts and Looney Tunes, so I can appreciate her cartoony sense of humour.
4. Favourite Background Pony? I guess I shouldn't answer this. I prefer to stick to the canon and leave fanon to ficcers.
5. Would you hug the Great And Powerful Trixie? If she stops being a jerk and needs one, sure.

@D Roy: I don't think there's any specific image that fans latch onto, although John Joseco's takes on the humanized ponies tend to be pretty popular. (And not solely because of the ecchi, either)

I was saying this whole canon latching thing because there's a genderbent project of Haruhi Suzumiya and the image seems to be consistent. Then again, I have no idea who created the images.
