[up][up]Generally, they get giddy over the weirdest things. Like, my one roommate's reaction to watching How to Train Your Dragon was an extremely impassioned, "Oh god look at the texture on his SCALES!"

Re: Tangled: Eeeeehehehehehehe I loved Tangled! I'll grant you're probably talking about the hair, to which I'll say it was certainly unrealistic-looking and moving, BUT, everything in that movie had a very sleek, smooth feel to it(Well, for the most part, they did really well on the fabrics), and the animation was gummy and bouncy enough that a bit of unrealism worked in the movies favour. Overall I just LOVE how fucking EXCITED that movie is about everything.

@Star: You already saw It's About Time?

@Kegi: Sounds about right.

I suppose so, yeah. They tend to latch onto one thing that they really really like.

@Dark: Hate to say it, but a lot of Wall-E is primarily visual. It might not... work, all things considered, for a non-visual or less-visual audience.

@Mio Yeah I kinda did a review there a few pages back but everybody was too busy talking about Tron to even notice it so yeah.

[up]I see. I can see it was a relief after your last episode.

Personally both of the Twilight episodes in this season are probably my least favorite episodes in the series, but I'm weird like that.

As a kid, I thought Digimon was stupid because it seemed like a lame attempt to cash in on Pokemon. Now I know better, but I never did get into it.

@Mio Yeah that was a horrible night for me. Not really helped with the fact that I was held up at the station by security for having the wrong ticket and college as well. Just god damn it....

I remember reading on This Very Wiki that the Academy Awards snubbed Tron because they saw CGI as "cheating"

The worst part is that it barely even had any CGI. But I guess doing it at all was considered groundbreaking at the time.

I think the reason people watched Tron was BECAUSE of the visuals...

But the original had terrible visuals. If you're going to do B&W at least be consistent with it like Good Night, and Good Luck..

Speaking of, Wall-e bored me to tears the first thirty minutes, though I can't blame them for that.

It does get off to a slow start, but I suppose it's a lot more boring without visuals.

You're missing out, Story. Digimon (or at least, the first two seasons, I never watched the others) has a pretty kickass story.

Especially the part where Sora activates her crest for the first time. Makes me want to cry.
I am an ENDLESS BARREL of exposition!
But yeah, I'm done.

Season 3 (aka Tamers) also has a good story and set of characters. . .but it's kind of on the strange/dark side.

I saw the review Star. Glad you liked it for the most part.

And yeah, Dragon Quest isn't very good.

As for me, I enjoyed Tangled, but I hold to my opinion that the Princess and the Frog is the better movie.

It really depends. Everyone agrees that the premise of the mane six getting turned into dragons (and Spike getting turned into a cow) had potential, but lots of fans thought that potential was wasted by turning it into a vehicle for bad puns.
And, since today is apparently National Jump To Conclusions Day...

Yeah, it's a shame they abandoned 2d animation. Tangled had a better villian though.

I never saw Princess and the Frog.

I'll give Tangled the better villain, but the music is some of Disney's best, and he was still very entertaining, not to mention pretty scary.

And it had a wonderful reverse of the usual princess and male hero roles.

One of the interesting things is that they subverted the whole princess thing with Tiana only becomes a princess by accident. There's also the firefly thing but I don't want to spoil that.

I don't think I'd really put one or the other on top. they're both good, but for very different reasons. In a way, they really highlight the differences between 3D and Traditional animation - Princess and the Frog can get away with a lot of stuff because they can deform the models of the characters for wilder moments, but Tangled has a lot of subtlety in its body language. Story-wise again, they're both good, but different. Tangled takes a much more classical approach, whereas PATF really only has princesses and the like as an afterthought, it almost feels. They both have good characters, good villains and fun stories. So I'd call them about even.

Despite some pretty dark, depressing moments, I really like Up. Also, I love Wreck-It-Ralph, but there may be some bias there, considering my affinity for video games.

So Spyro, how's the fanfic going? Do you want to have someone else do the chapter?
