It also implies Pinkie's youth. And combining it with Call of the Cutie implies that AJ is older than most of them and Rainbow is younger than most of them.
I'll concur that Sereg is awesome, but what does his dislike of Life & Times have to do with it? -
Midnight Rambler
What's weird is that AJ was last in her class but was still 'littler' then the CMC. They must really be late bloomers.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
Which makes me think the CMC are are preteens. I'd say they are all safely 13 by season 3.

I'm sorry to say, you've been eaten by a Grue.
Eh, depending on how closely one looks at the 'cutie marks as puberty' allegory(Which when you think about it really makes no sense... it's more like Apple Bloom is having a seriously early Quarter-Life Crisis) 13 is REALLY late. Like, distressingly late. 10 or 11 would be my guess, assuming I remember health class correctly.
Which is what I figure. She's 11 and a half to 12 in Call of the Cuty and ages from there being 14 by the time of One Bad Apple. Though I head canon her as the oldest in the group with the others trailing a few months behind.

Now that you point it out, it is weird that they would have gone three years without getting
C Ms when they're already the oldest. It's like they're cursed or something.

I don't think that much time passes between the seasons of the show, personally.
An absolutely horrible person. Really.
I'm with Ike. They'd have gotten visibly bigger if three whole years had passed. I'm of the opinion that the whole series has taken place in the same year.
Well we know that can't be true since the Grand Galloping Gala happened twice.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
What's that, time passes but noone ages? I think that's more
Comic Book Time in general.

Two at least, season 1 covers summer, fall, and spring so the first season alone is around a year. Besides, Winter Wrapup to Heart's Warming Eve is a year from winter to winter. Not to mention there's a summer festivel in One Bad Apple.

Hang about...if each episode is the highlight moment of a week...and there's...what...50 something episodes...the first three seasons only took up about a year give or take.
Well a little over a year, maybe.
Ya know what? I'm getting real bored with me not having an Avatar when I'm on this thread so why not? I'll take you guys up on the search for an Avatar thing. And plus it'll distinguish me from the rest I guess.

"Transform and Roll out!" Optimus Prime
Wait when did the second Grand Galloping Gala happen?
It was about to happen during Sweet and Elite.

Well, why do we assume episode order means chronological? I take it that season 1 is pure anacronic order over a year. It's easier if you stack up the time markers in season 1 in American holiday order and go from there.
