@Ike: Different typefaces are used for different things. As noted, Comic Sans is based on comic book lettering, and for that it works okay. The problem is that since it comes standard on microsoft computers, it gets used for things where other fonts would be far more appropriate.

The appropriate use of fonts is something you actually get taught in technical writing and web development courses. Serif fonts like Times New Roman are designed specifically to ease reading of large reams of text. Sans-serif fonts (like this one) are best used for small, controlled blocks designed to be read quickly, such as smaller divisions on web pages or road signs. Courier and System (like in the TVT editing screen) are used for typing code, as they are formatted to constant width across characters. Certain other fonts like Impact are designed to evoke a businesslike feel by resembling older printing presses. Comic Sans, of course, is designed to evoke a whimsical feel that's rarely appropriate for what it's most often used for. And so on.

Fonts have a tremendous amount of cognitive baggage associated with them. You can't just throw whatever font you feel like on the screen.

well, you've made him properly big, and i appreciate that. i can't stand when artists humanize Macintosh and make him reed-thin. he's not a Bishōnen, he's a Gentle Giant.

Agreed. He's clearly supposed to be a big bulky guy. I don't even like Bishonen Blueblood. He looks like he should be bulky too.

IMO, Big Macintosh is best stallion, although he probably would be dethroned by Dr. Hooves if the latter was made officially made any expy of the Doctor from Doctor Who.

@Blueblood being buff: For some reason, I kinda see him as a tweed-like individual, as opposed to how you portray Big M, Applelight.

@Applelight: Umm, why? Because he's undressed? If that is all it takes to set some people's gaydar off, then I say they aren't worth paying attention too.

It's pretty good design for Mac by the way.

It's the beauty of FIM humanizations. They can be whatever you want them to be.

a humanized Blueblood strikes me as the type of guy who wears layers, shirts with large collars and grandiose capes to make himself look big, when in reality he's no bigger than any other dude.

I tend to image human Blueblood as being almost totally without muscle. Somehow I doubt that he works out.

But he is sort of big. Bigger than say Caramel or any of the 'standard' stallions.
