I wouldn't go so far as to say that the characters are better because they're ponies (honestly, if the show had been the same, only with humans, I'd still probably watch it), but the concept was pretty bad. Especially since the fanbase really wanted a movie based on the show. If they had just made a straight-up MLP: The Movie thing, it would have printed money for them.

Seriously. They were called Action Masters. They were supposed to be transformers that though some techno babble lost the ability to transform, in exchange for more powerful robot forms.

Humanizations of the characters as art is fine. I just don't get why you would take a show where part of the title is Pony and make everyone human.

And it's not that being ponies makes them better, it just makes them different. Different is nice sometimes. Most of the shows I watch have humans as the main characters, sometimes with aliens or magical humanoids thrown into the mix. Taking the one show about ponies and turning them into people just makes it duller somehow, in my mind.

An absolutely horrible person. Really.
