Any tips for how to do better R Ping?

Well, firs off just get in character, figure out what they are like, how they think, just, know them, then, simply let them tell you what they would do.

Has anyone read Children of a Lesser Dragon God Boy Whelp Thingy Guy? One of the funniest fics I've read in a while.

The house is fixed, the windows are fixed, the hole in the celing is patched up. What could go wrong?

@ Story: Tips for doing better RP? are we talking forum RP or tabletop RP, because while examples of good rp from both styles share some characteristics, they are fairly different. As for advice regarding both, never make your RP completely random. You should have some sort of goal your trying to achieve with the RP, telling a story or joining one. Secondly, have a firm grasp of the sort of character you wish to potray during your roleplay experience. Thirdly, don't roleplay as yourself, as that defeats the fundamental purpose of roleplaying to begin with. Incorporating elements of your personality into the character is acceptable to some degree. Fourthly, when roleplaying with others, remember the ideal is to tell a collaborative story so don't try to hog the spotlight. This is all pretty basic stuff, but it'd be foolish to ignore the fundamentals.

I was thinking of sockpuppets here.

I'd think that alot of what I said would still apply to sockpuppets, especially the bit of having a strong sense of the character you want to portray and not making the whole thing utterly random.

Yeah, it's mostly about creating a consistent character and figuring out how they'd react to whatever happens.

Which is why self-insert characters are easy. Just react how you would yourself :D

So I just got around to watching Smile HD. It's disapointing that people put such time and animation skill into making stupid stuff like that. Also, the remix wasn't very good.

As much as i think the animation was good, that was just awful.Then again the guy who posted it was the same one who did derpy gets pranked. Even the beatdown Vegeta received from Frieza wasn't as brutal as Smile HD.

I sometimes feel similarly about some artists and porn. I mean, you KNOW they're good at art, and...oh, porn again? I mean, I guess you can do whatever you want, but sometimes you want to see something awesome AND work-safe.

Yeah, I know how that goes... There's one team whose particular artistic style I'm a fan of, I need to see if I can find any art from individual members that's SFW

Yeah, that's why Orion is so good and just so normal to us, he's a consistent, fully fleshed out character. He feels real.
