That's EXACTLY what I thought you were trying to say. Saying he has an annoying voice is pretty lowbrow IMHO, considering he's still a kid, but the short segments DO have a purpose of not connecting: it's a pilot and the title does read "Button's adventures". Plus I thought it was well for it's first time.

Nah, being a kid isn't an excuse for giving him a grating voice. If you want people to enjoy something, giving the title character a voice people won't like is kind of a problem, even if it is realistic. Saying "I didn't like his voice" is a completely valid criticism.

@Kyler: That is an excellent game to be hooked on. Speaking of, there need to be more Persona crossovers. It would work really well, we've basically already got the Shadows with the Nightmare.

Seriously, not all kids have annoying voices. Yes some do, but if you want people to like the character, don't make that character one of them.

x4 Valid it may be, it's still pretty much a weak move. I say the character can be great on it's own merits without relying on a perfect voice. Besides, it fits his mama's boy personality.

There needs to be a Persona crossover that's actually finished (or still in progress). I've tried searching, but they all seem to be cut short.

@Crow: Dammit.

@Kix: It's still a legit point against the character. No, a character doesn't need a perfect voice, but they shouldn't annoy people either. And for what it's worth, the most common criticism I've heard of the short is his voice. There are pretty obviously a lot of people who felt that the whininess of his voice detracted from the overall quality of the animation.
