@Wryte: Having him sort of fill Fluttershy's initial role I think might have made sense. I still would have had him break up with Sunset, more to set up the school conflict as having been between him and her before Twilight arrives.

Well mostly human, with the occasion pony, AI, zombie, and donkey thrown in.

Hidamari Sketch sounds entertaining, but no dub so yay. Girl-oriented anime really needs more localization.

Azumanga Daioh blows Lucky Star out of the water. I think part of the issue is that Lucky Star is geared towards a very niche audience, whereas Azumanga Daioh uses much more general humor. It basically means that for Lucky Star, more people have trouble appreciating it, but those that fall into the target audience really like it. Unfortunately, I don't fit in there, so I thought it was rather underwhelming. And this is coming from a guy who generally loves Seinfeldian Conversation.

Haven't seen Hidamari Sketch.

I think the closest I've come to watching 'girl' anime was Glass Mask.

[up] That is also a good show, but kind of a different genre from the other shows we've been talking about. (I mean, it gets pretty dark. Like, frequently. Also, its more adventurey.)

Haven't seen Hidamari Sketch.
You should have a look at it. You're missing out.

Yeah my anime expeirinc is very limited, outside the things that aired on Toonami in the 90's, it's pretty much just Eva and TTGL.

While we're on the subject, I highly recommend My Bride Is A Mermaid. It's not very well known, but it has a really strong cast of characters and the anime has great comedic timing. Also, one of the secondary characters is pretty much The Terminator with the serial numbers filed off. Pretty much the entire thing is hilarious, and it actually manages to fit a few heartwarming moments in without ever being sappy.

And with that, I sleep.

I recently watched Jungle De Ikou for a request on deviantart. I'd never even heard of it before, but it was only 3 episodes long, so I figured why not.

Have you ever gotten nostalgia from something you've never actually seen before? The OVA is stupid as hell, but it's stupid in such a distinctly 90's anime way that as a fan who first got into anime in the early 2000's I can't even bring myself to be mad at it. It's like a time capsule of 90's cheese, and I couldn't help but enjoy it for that.
Oooh, a dA link sig, how original.

lets see here, my anime experience consists of Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, both Ghost In The Shell movies, FLCL, Blue Submarine No. 6, umm... and I know I'm forgetting a few others. But yeah.

everyone should totally watch Blue Sub 6. It is equal parts awesome action and mindscrew.
