I liked it all except for the juice box thing. I don't think even a kid would cry over something like that.
Yeah, that was the one that bothered me too. The Milkshake one was a bit screechy, and quite stupid as well, but not REALLY bad.

It's possible that they saw the humanized fan art as an indication that fans wouldn't mind or even like if their favorite characters were made humans. They seem to indicate as much in the early promotional stuff.
The opportunity to use an already popular franchise to compete with other dolls for older girls likely seemed to good to pass up.
