Yes I'm going a cartoony route these days as my realistic humans look awful. Is this AJ still adorable? Not too fat is she?
I'm looking forward to getting back to Pinkie Pie. She will be pear shaped and it should contrast well with AJ.

Try for a tanned-orange tone. Run a "colour test" of several possible tones by us if possible :D

@edvedd - Nice! I really love the color of the hair and texture of the skin.
@AJ - I believe you are taking the Stout Strength too far. Sure, she's a farmer, but she's not the kind that would use too much of strength, unless you are going by that she will be still kicking the apples off the tree like in the show. Even then, the knees are too small in comparison to the rest of her legs.

@D Roy: If he's going for a stylized look over a realistic one, then it doesn't really matter.
Also, don't make her too orange or she'll end up looking like a tanning booth disaster.

My point about the knees, my main criticism, still stands; unless it's a specific intention, you are going to need a balance no matter what kind of style you choose.

Normally I emphasize the similar balance of arm/elbow and leg/knee. But you said yourself that you aren't going for realistic; my artistic expertise (if I can say I have any) pertains realistic human anatomy and maybe geometry so I am not sure what applies and what does not.

Absolutely amazing animation...but I really hate the voice. I can't stand hearing it.

Yes it is them. As I said before, I'm ditching drawing realistically and using stylized designs with an overall cartoony look. TDI was one of the styles that influenced it actually, along with most of the classic CN output.
