I D'awwed. Anyone know where the fanon of Dinky being Derpy's daughter came from? It seems odd since they're not the same kind of pony. Not that that makes it any less adorable.

Is it just me, or is no other show with a fandom that produces such a high volume/ratio of "d'aaaw!" worthy fan fiction and fan art as FiM?

I dunno. I like to think Dinky was adopted by Derpy.

Pretty sure that bit of fanon only came about because they have similar colors.

I now feel like writing a fanfiction that delves deep into the psyche of Pinkamena Dianne Pie. Even with Pinkie Pie, after the party ends, Dianne is still there, looking for acceptance and meaning. She may retain the Element of Laughter even without her friends, but that it no longer represents the laughter of joy, but of denial.

Which makes me wonder, what would happen to the other characters if they were suddenly deprived of their friendship (via DEATH) but retained their elements of harmony.

Applejack: She would probably have an honest breakdown but at least admit it.

Rarity: She might become a Crazy Cat Lady (give her time) who would give away everything she had.

Twilight Sparkle: She might become a social delinquent.

Rainbow Dash: She might try to hang out at the grave site of her friends every year.

Fluttershy: Oh God..I don't want to imagine how she would handle it. T_T

Its um... Its ok.

But I still don't know exactly what this thing is. Is it a comedy, does it get dramatic at times, what?

I just got her to start watching ponies even though its like 2 in the morning where she is.

Have you only seen the pilot? The first two episodes aren't really a great indicator of the rest of the show. Its mostly comedic, there aren't any more big villains like Nightmare Moon.

It shifts moods. Some episodes are primarily comedic (a shining example is "Feeling Pinkie Keen"), others dramatic.

There... aren't really any dramatic episodes, no. Any drama that comes up is quickly lightened up with some silliness.

@Sand: Fluttershy would seem just fine, at least from the point of view of the other ponies. Though she does appear to be prone to giving random acts of kindness to just about everyone she meets in town. But the attentive will note that she's burdened by guilt, not having been there for her friends (or something). And while she goes around helping everyone, there's no one supporting her in return... it's only a matter of time before she completely falls to pieces.
