They would likely follow her.

Applejack and Twilight Sparkle would probably not care that she's moving as long as Fluttershy's happy, but Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Rainbow Dash would not want her to leave for various reason, maybe to the point of moving with her in Dash's case.

Right away start dying of cuteness withdrawal. Soon they'll be snorting Pinkie's laughter just to stave off suicidal depression.

I think it would depend on why she's moving. Depending on the reason, they could be anywhere from fully supportive to trying to convince her to stay.

Or at the very least move along with her. Though some may be more hesitant than other (Applejack has her family and Rarity have a business to run. There's also the whole "Twilicorn rules from Ponyville" possibility) It would also depend on where's she moving to as well as why.

With some revision, the band finally found some success with Surfin' Derp.

AJ and Rarity are probably too tied to Ponyville to up and move just because of Fluttershy. Honestly, I'm not sure any of the other ponies except for maybe RD would be so tied to her that they'd uproot themselves to follow her. They'd certainly be broken up over her going, but I don't think they're so codependent. They wouldn't abandon everyone else in the town just because of one pony, even if it is Fluttershy.

Yeah, moving away with someone implies a strong sort of attachment, the kind usually limited to significant others, life debts, and the like.

So, Fluttershy could leave, I guess, and everyone would be sad, but AJ and Raity would stay in Ponyville? If the other Manes were to leave, would those two slowly drift apart from Pinkie, Fluttershy, RD, and Twilight? Or, if Pinkie and Twilight stayed, would Fluttershy and Dash slowly grow apart from the other four?

Agreed. The only people I'd uproot myself for in that manner (unless I had other reasons to move as well) would be a significant other, or a dependent family member (like if I had to take care of my parents or something). Then again, ponies don't seem to have phones or internet, so communication wouldn't be as easy.

@ATC: Probably. I'm sure they'd keep in touch and make points of visiting each other, but they definitely aren't going to be as close as they were when they all lived in the same town.

Yeah, I really don' see any of the main 6 doing that for any of the others. They are their best freinds, but not only, they'd miss them, but they aren't quite that bonded that they'd leave everything.

that's really how I want to series to end, with the Mane 6 splitting up, going their own ways, pursuing their own goals. RD becoming a Wonderbolt and touring Equestria with them, Rarity getting her shop in Canterlot, Twilight, off doing princessy stuff. Maybe something else taking AJ and Pinkie out of Ponyville, maybe not. AJ isn't leaving.

BUT it ends by showing them doing that, making time to talk to each other, spend time together, stay in touch, have reunions etc... making it clear that even though they are separate, haven't gone their own ways, they are still friends, still connected to each other, and still will always be there for each other.

Aw, but that's how friendship dies. It's like a flower that needs care and time and water and air and sun and daily nurturing. It's like a fire that needs to be refueled.

If they separate and that's how it ends, I want it to be played for sadness and "growing up" vibes. Maybe Pinkie matures and is less silly and playful; and can no longer warp reality.

They pass it on to a new group of ponies.

I wanted to write a fic about that, once.

Okay, that makes some sense. Thought if they do got hat route it may be a sort of Distant Finale

Maybe they choose who to pass it on to, before they send the final villain to Tartarus and spend the rest of their existence ensuring he/she never becomes a threat to the whole planet again, at the cost of spending eternity constantly fighting.

Yeah, I'd take that in more of a bitter than sweet ending. Though I wouldn't put it past the writers if they did, truth is sadder endings stay with us longer.
