Hmm...Trixie versus Sunset.

Who is the best mage? Who is more deserving of Twilight Sparkle's rivalry? Who gets two loyal thugs to do their dirty work?

I can imagine Twi using this to her advantage. If she resolves their endless conflicts, she has more letters to write to the Princess.

Sunset is probably the better mage, having been Celestia's student, but Trixie has much better presentation, which as Megamind tells us is crucial to any villain.

Huh. Just realized that Sunset must be quite a bit older than Twi if she was Celestia's student first, since Twi was pretty young when she started, yet they're both the same age on the other side of the portal. Meanwhile Cheerilee is suddenly older on the other side. Magic portals, how do you work?

Well, there's only enough room in the film for little cameo shots.

The CMC were lucky they even got their Show Stoppers bit.

I think a Trixie vs. Sunset fight would just basically be Bullet Hell and Calling Your Attacks.

@Crowfall: It's The Year Outside, Hour Inside Effect, and the fact that the mares seem to be arounf their human ages, (And everypony else's age depend on the year difference between them and the mane 6 in horse years) At least that's how I try to explain why the CMC are in high school there. (The other explanation is that Canterlot High is also a middle and elementary school as well)

I wonder what would have happened if you went through the portal a few hundred years before. Would Celestia still somehow be in charge of the school back then? And would Luna be banished for trying to bring about eternal math class or whatever?

I still say they should have had a Megan cameo. It was pretty much the ideal time considering it was a human-focused version and it came out on the thirtieth anniversary. Ah well.
