On the plus side, although not really in a writing mood, I'm feeling a lot better about Fancy's powers. Would you guys be worried if I said that Fancy is starting off as like a milder form of Discord...only cares about himself and his own amusment/success/etc...who proves himself to be an OK guy after all after much strife. His powers could potentially make him like one of the Loony Toons (specifically, Bugs Bunny) ...like when dealing with an antagonist he might fuck them about with word play etc, then bop them over the head with a hard light mallet. Incidentally, Batty would be like early Daffy Duck. Loony Toon levels of violence would work well I think. It's not far way from the show but can be more deliciously vicious.

I think it could make for good character development, but you should probably keep the reality warping low key. I think a lot of the cartoon gags in the show work well because they aren't something hte ponies are doing intentionally. They're more a sort of exaggeration of what they would normally do.

I agree. All he can so is summon up hard light objects, and like I said he's got a lot of limitations as to what he can summon.

When you say "Misfits", do you mean "OMG, it's buckin' Jem's Misfits" or "Real life Misfits"?

Afternoon everyone. I'm back from my grandmother's 94th birthday. If I had to choose a pony to move in with, I'm leaning Golden Harvest or possibly Berry Punch. I'd at least hang out with Berry. She seems to be pretty relaxed and is noted to be rather fun.

Maybe she'd enjoy listening to Siouxsie and the Banshees. Or maybe Dead Can Dance. I can easily imagine her enjoying darkwave, ethereal darkwave, or neoclassical.

For moving in with, I'd say probably either Twilight or AJ, mainly due to process of elimination. RD doesn't strike me as the type to be a very good roommate, Pinkie would get really annoying if you had to stay in such close proximity for so long, Rarity would probably be even more persnickety than Twilight, and I'd rather not deal with having to worry about sitting on animals all the time.

AJ and Twi seem like the types to not be quite so intrusive (although Twilight might be like that if you're sloppy).

@ATC: So far no seaponies have appeared in FIM canon proper. There have been some hints in side materials, but nothing that's truly canon with the show.

I suspect Luna still prefers genres a thousand years old. So to get her into new stuff, you'd have to meet her halfway with stuff like orchestral metal, folk punk, or electrofolk.

Well, I'm a fan of FM but haven't had a chance to give the Pogues much of a listen.

The Clash experimented with it, for one song, about the same time the Pogues were getting started.

@ Meta: I think probably the best song to get introduced The Pogues with is probably Fairytale of New York or Body of an American. It takes a bit to get used to it though. Especially since Shane Mc Gowan tended to slur his words due partially to not having vey many teeth left in his mouth. The other reason for his tendency to slur was the fact that he wasn't sober very often. One story I heard was that he suffered from social anxiety and tried to use alcohol as a coping mechanism, leading him not refusing drinks fans offered him.
