Well yeah, if he had been well written then his presence in the movie wouldn't have been a problem. But he wasn't well written, I don't think anyone is really arguing that, and it isn't my job to make excuses for boring characters. I don't really like him, and I'd rather he not be in the movie. That's the writers fault for making him boring, not mine for not thinking of ways he could have been interesting.
