OK, but most of the trouble came from his bombarding of people with P Ms. Ginger got it pretty bad.

Oh, and some believe that Earth Ponies are useless compared to the other races. But I think they just haven't had a chance to fully shine yet.

I'm still going with the idea that they're Boring, but Practical. They don't have as much flash as the other races, but they seem a lot more reliable due to a higher general level of strength.

Probably not at first; due to the fact that she's presumably going to believe she really got it. I don't know about later; I'd guess no, as the main conflict is probably going to be the whole "She got a cutie mark and I didn't" thing, but it could go either way.

Ginger's favorite thing to talk about is how sucky (less skilled) Applejack is compared to the rest of the cast and how Pinkie is annoying. He's not Brony99 bad, but it has come up an absurd amount of times in the last 500 pages.

Probably something you need to wait out. Otherwise the episode would consist of her visiting the hospital and getting better. And I doubt she will get physically ill, since she can do more if she isn't stuck in bed for half the episode.

Oh and I agree about the E Ps. Your average Unicorn is not Twilight...and your average Pegasus is not RD. So let's see them pull a 1000 odd ton train or knock a whole town of ponies over the horizon.

At least he's actually wlling to discuss it, and let it drop when people get sick of it. It's harder to avoid because it's a more general subject, and because Pinkie Pie is a much more common subject of discussion.

I think the earth pony comparison at least makes for some deep thinking. I mean, I've tried imagining them in a fight before, and they really don't seem to have much going for them compared to the ot—*remembers Big Mac blowing everypony away* Okay, that was a Twilight-level action, so nevermind. BIG MAC IS PINNACLE OF EARTH PONIES!!

Still kinda had trouble with them when trying to make fanfics, since I couldn't find a good way to make them stand out against enemies by doing things the others couldn't; finding their 'specialty' as it was. Anything they could do the other species's could also do, having nothing unique to them. I just made it so they were tougher and went on my merry way.

Well remember that Rarity and FS aren't really fighters...yes, Rarity seems to know some sort of MA and FS can wrestle a bear that let's her...but that'll only take you so far.

I'd rather have AJ in a fight than those two tbh.

Because I'm looking at a wet pony and I like it.

I wouldn't say AJ or Pinkie is your AVERAGE EP either (AJ can atomise wood with a kick and Pinkie is god), but you're right, they don't represent the PEAK of EP ability like RD and Twilight do for their respective races

It doesn't help that our main unicorn reference is Twilight. She isn't exactly a typical case. Most unicorns probably don't outclass earth ponies like that.

Well...let's compare AJ to Rarity, and use human terms:

Human! Rarity knows an MA. She can kick and punch pretty good. She punches a random goon in the face. It's enough to send them staggering back hurt, but they are still on their feet and shrug it off pretty quickly.

Human! AJ knows boxing. She punches hard AND fast. She gives a goon a 1 2 1 that floors them...they don't get back up.

Point is, AJ is, imo, tougher, harder, faster and stronger than Rarity will ever be.

AJ's unique skill is the lassoing. The only other pony who even comes close is Trixie, and that's more like a stage trick.

Think about it. Everything we've seen an EP do, we've seen someone else do better.

Applebuckin': AJ's good, but Twilight can harvest 30 odd trees in one go

Speed: AJ's Fast, but RD can break the sound barrier

Strength: AJ's uber strong, but RD can cause EXPLOSIONS.

Lassoing: AJ's really good, but Twilight's got TELEKINESIS

Just remember that RD and Twi are much stronger than the avearage type of their...type.

AJ could probably run your average Unicorn/Pegasus into the dirt no sweat.

You know, we really need a trope for "improbable skills with a lasso". I mean, I get being able to, say, wrangle some rampaging animal...but a cloud?? Either that means that Applejack is just that good with a lasso, or Rainbow Dash moving clouds around isn't actually that impressive after all...

Also, what if there was a rank above alicorn? What additional feature would a super alicorn get?

True. AJ's at least got the right attitude, since she won an award for being amazingly helpful and all

She's also an amazing hearder. She pretty much solved the parasprite problem (if it weren't for Fluttershy)

The issue is that AJ's physicality is a huge part of her character. It makes her shortcomings a lot more obvious than if she were a character like Rarity

And considering her temperament I'll bet she's caused a fight or two... Dozen and probably knows her way around a brawl.
