Roughly where is Equestria in terms of technology? The megaphone and record player seem to suggest early 20th century, but has there been any instance of radio on the show? Any type of mechanical vehicle beyond that of a train?

Granted, it's objectifying to some extent, but given that we're talking character design (in that physical appearance is often representative of a fictional character's personality and traits moreso than any real person's), I won't say there's no value to it, either.

On that note, though, we have had this discussion before, and fairly recently, too. Let's talk about something else, yes.

^I don't think we've seen any sort of TV or radio equipment, and I can't recall any structures having antennae of any sort.

I've been working with the idea of a Clockpunk inventor Earth Pony myself...who can build clockwork helicopters, wing back packs, lifesized pony replicas, tvs etc.

I'd say it's the year of our lord 1400BC, so approximately the late 19thcentry give or take a year.

In other words, the tech is messed up, heck if I know where they are. Early 20th century may be the limit here.

This one is what, Dash trying to get a pet?

A lot of people have latched on to this as a scootaloo episode, and I think I'm just gonna go on the record as saying she won't show up at all.

I can kind of imagine she tries out a whole bunch of pets, and right at the beginning something shows up that's super lame, like a fish or something, and she brushes it off, but by the end of the episode it winds up wowing/saving her, and she keeps it. I kind of like the image a fish smwimming through the water in her clouds. That would be pretty neat, I think. She'd have to have something she could keep up there, at least, which actually rules out a lot of stuff.

Can pegasi even have non cloud-based furniture, come to think of it? He bed is made of clouds... now that I think of it, there' a lot of problems with a cloud house. Like, wouldn't it get really wet easily? Even if it wasn't normally, would it ever turn into a storm cloud?

@Mousa: The Year of Our lord refers exclusively to AD, I believe. So calling it the year of our lord x BC is sort of contradictory.
