You know doomsaying about a third season, when we are barely a fifth of the way through the second season is kind of silly. Who knows, maybe the new guys (if there are any) will be talented enough to make the third season the best of all. . .on the other hand there is still plenty of time for the show to Jump the Shark this season. You never know with these things.

Well what specifically do you think of when it comes to a sad fic trying to hard?(if you don't want to continue this conversation thats ok)

I agree with Mio. No matter how important the person, a huge effort like this can't have been carried solely by that person. Lauren Faust even stated that the team is skilled enough that they were able to pull off things she thought impossible. Unless they lose a huge portion of their team, I seriously doubt things will go sour.

I trust the team to do just fine, after all their vets are all from other great shows.

Lauren is still around to provide creative input, it's not like she got banished to the moon.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. Mostly I'm of the 'wait and see' camp. We'll wait until the third season actually airs to call Ruined Forever, methinks.

I find it strange that this fandom always seems to expect the worse. We expected alot of upset with cannon luna, which never really happend.

Robot Unicorn Attack is actually set in the gritty realism of Equestria's Cyber Punk future, where RD has been cybernetically enhanced to fight crime (or possibly fairies & dolphins).

Yeah, I'm also going to place myself in the "wait and see" camp. Even if the third season does Jump the Shark, it doesn't change the quality of what we already have. (Which is part of the reason I hate Ruined Forever so much).

For the most part, yeah. Though I imagine the creative directors could step in and say no if they read something too out of character.

But yeah, most of the writers are still there.

Ginger: Yes, but the animators do a really good job of giving the ponies expressive body language too and IIRC, someone (either Jayson or Lauren) said there's a lot of things that aren't scripted that get thrown in. IMO, the body language can say as much about the ponies as their direct actions or dialogue (especially for Fluttershy, seriously, she has plenty of good little reactions where she's in the scene and denied dialogue).

I can see tons of little animation touches that are incredibly difficult to script.

"Applejack's too tired to pull the cart so the weight takes over and she topples backward, getting wedged into a pit, thereby propping her vertically in the air."

"Sweetie Belle is so bored that she lets her upper body lie on the floor and her hind legs scoot her around the room."

You can tell the animators have a field day with this show!

I remember saying something similar while watching the (successful) fashion show on Suited for Success. That scene was like the scriptwriter put up a single line saying 'This is the part where the animators have fun for a while'.

Calvin: I kind of resent the manufacturer's implicit assumption that this would amuse me.

Hey guys, I've got a revised version of the prologue

for an alternate continuity fic where Celestia is the Solar Empress and Luna comes back as herself instead of Nightmare Moon. Anypony want to let me know what they think? I'm also gonna post in the fanfic thread as soon as I comment on Kuroi's doc. Can't expect things to go only one way of course.
