Regarding EQG (don't worry, no spoilers), one of my friends went to see it in the theater this morning and he said it exceeded his expectations. So at the very least it's enjoyable and not a festering pile of garbage.

Weird. Anyway, yeah, he says that it was evident that the writers were actually invested in it rather than phoning it in and that it was clearly more than just a crappy cash grab. He also compared it to "Canterlot Wedding" in that the promos really didn't cover the full scope of the thing.

In more amusing news, apparently there were only about a handful of people at the theater, and only one was in the target demographic for the movie.

Since it's not airing anywhere near me, I'm going to have to wait for it to show up on TV. Either that or use Perfectly Legal Means to watch it, but since it's a film that's being shown in theaters rather than an episode of a TV show, even that would take a while for a quality version.
