SF Debris MLPFIM review can be good idea. That guy review most time SF stuff and he may be more convincing than watching one of episodes.

I recomend pilot, if he whant watch it he can start from begining. (And I still don't think this they are bad episode, I like them, and some people liked it more that rest of series ).

But if you don't whant to risk - try Swarm of Century: cute insect things what reproduce fast (shout out to Tribles and Gremlins), and heroes fails to rid of them or stop them plus WTF resolution it can be best choice for non brony.

Honestly, I say either "Lesson Zero" or "Applebuck Season." The pilot episodes might work if you can get him to be committed for 2-3 episodes.

Definitely not "The Return of Harmony" though.

It's been inactive for longer before. It's been unusually active today.

As for intro episode suggestions, how about Over A Barrel? That's the first one I ever saw. It has a bunch of jokes near the beginning and it's a relatively actiony episode.
