Yeah, in real life, people react in different ways due to circumstance or just chance as well as personality. I think having mlutiple writers may actually help as it leads to the characters being more variable.

I realize there's basically no chance Shy's not being honest, but I can't get the idea out of my head that she's just trolling the shit out of the judges MIT style.

Eh. I'm underwhelmed by the comic (the first one that underwhelmed me, really), but in that weird cautious way when you're pretty sure the story about art didn't go meta by being purposefully mediocre to screw with you for not liking it, but not totally sure. I got the same feeling playing No More Heroes.

I dunno. If it was just the artwork looking off that'd be fine (I loved the Twilight micro despite questionable drawing, and hell, I'd vote for Shy's masterpiece over the avant-garde crap in that contest) but the story feels really rushed and doesn't build up properly, and the writing is just really superficial. It reads like a mediocre fanfic or one of the weird German comics, and probably would've benefited from a bit more time to expand on character interactions instead of being 80% Flutterlogue and then suddenly it's a climax because Celestia showed up and that totally makes it a climax, right?.

Well it's more like a Sailor Senshi or Precure style transformation.

I never watched either of those shows. How are their transformation sequences different?

Well, the meguca transformations are usually very short lol, the Sailor Moon stuff tends to be more silhouettes entirely and the Precure stuff is much more tasteful than the typical Magical Girl transformation fare.

@ Apple: I'd hardly call several downvotes a mess. Salty Dog was a good drawing, but people might have been put off by the unfinished look, namely the lack of a mane and tail.

Derpibooru can be a tough crowd. A recent IPT tumblr entry with a massive wall of text got a negative score there. I think it might have gone over better in edited form, with either the best parts from the quotes, or just the best quote by itself. To be fair, even I thought the wall of text was too much.

The Luna one was kind of wall of text-y. but that seems to be doing OK. I guess it's shorter, though.

Does anyone get annoyed by the unfair double standards aimed towards this show.

For example, people always watch kids shows like Dora, Spongebob, Ed, Edd n Eddy, The Fairly Oddparents, but when someone admits they like My Little Pony, you get called immature and childish for it.

I got into an argument with my brother and I mentioned Spongebob and Dora and he said "because it's different, " when Spongebob and My Little Pony both appeal to the same age group. Dora appeals to ''toddlers, ' ' yet liking my little pony is a crime.

I think people just love to harp on this show.
