See, people bang on about the Earth Ponies being just as good as the other races. Yet I think we can all agree that AJ would get curb stomped by EVERY other member of the mane cast if they were serious. (even Pinkie)

Buffaloes are really OP though. Except for their one weakness, food. I'm sure Little Strong Heart would be able to beat any pony but the Earth Ponies. Applejack would hit her with apples and Pinkie Pie would probably have a cake to hit her with.

I don't think AJ would be curb stomped. RD has been shown to get KO'd really easily, and while she has the capacity to attack from a distance, she probably wouldn't. And awesome as the Rainnuke was, it seemed to be mostly flash; Twilight and AJ were standing right next to ground zero, and they were basically unscathed. It's a powerful attack, but RD telegraphs it so much that AJ could get out of the way quite easily.

@Ginger: Look at it this way. The only thing that we have been really told is that their magic is connected to the land. That is a pretty vague statement. Just think about everything that statement may imply and until the show says otherwise AJ will be capable of all of those things.

So did Rainbow Dash and she didn't take a Hot Air Balloon ride to the finish. And weren't those Pegasi just the ones who sprinted?

How often does Rainbow Dash get KO'd? Whenever she hits the ground she's fine almost immediately after.

AJ was also racing UP A MOUNTAIN in the wrong direction for a while before being carried to the finish line, she ran about the same amount if not more than RD did

She might have run less, but since we don't know I'll concede the point, although if she was running at a consistent speed from before the race and if the balloon moved just at the same speed as the racers then she'd be in the balloon for longer than she ran. How long was Applejack running until she realised nopony else was there, anyway?

My dreams say Flutterdash so that's what I'm going for.

Ah well hopefully AJ will get a TRUE CMOA this season. One that'll put the rainnuke, the Ursa defeat, and the Fluttershy dragon scene to shame

She pretty much needed to ride the balloon to make up for lost time. She was going in completely the wrong direction. And I repeat, AJ was running up a mountain, that's more tiring than flat land
