It's got enough epic backstory and plot to inspire tons of youtube videos dedicated entirely to the lore.

Dark Souls actually has a really long, epic, complex, very well thought out story. But it's never told to you upfront (after all, how often to players actually pay attention to the Exposition dumped on them in cutscenes) you have to seek it out and work out the details for yourself.

I could write dozens of stories in the Dark Souls world.

@crimsonstorm I think that would still be awesome to have a KH-MLP crossover but seeing that the latter isn;t owned by nether Disney nor Square what probably wouldn't happen.

Also I think Sora would be a Pegasus due too the whole Land Sea Sky thing.

really? i had him pegged as an earth pony because he was raised on an island and is extremely resilient.

I had an idea for a fic awhile back where a reality warper tried to eliminate the Elements of Harmony as a threat by creating a world where the girls represented different elements. The girls would all be different races and live in different locations (Twi would be an earth pony on the Apple farm, for instance, and the main focus would be on AJ as the element of magic) but have the same cutie marks, so a lot of the story would focus on their new backgrounds and how they were still able to rise up to their new elements before eventually revealing why this world was so different. I sort of abandoned the idea around the time of Magical Mystery Cure, since it was a similar idea.

I really need to delve deeper into that game.

Well yeah but there that Motif thing and the Rule of Symbolism (Pegasi are the equine equivalent of Winged Humanoids, the common depiction of angels).

also reposting here because I still need ideas:

• The Mane 6 are looking for a rare subspecies of cockatrice and they must find it in 4 and a half days. Any ideas on how they may try to catch/find this cockatrice.
• Since Diamond Tiara became queen of the windigos How would she use this power?

idea! i plan on having the Drive forms be in the fic, so Sora could sprout wings made of light when he activates Final Form.

From a narrative standpoint Drives must be used sparingly. Something like Final Form would be Story Breaker Power (especially since it's a Game Breaking Power as well.) Also why not a horn for the magic spell (Aside form the Marty Stu accusations of course)?

don't worry. i'm only gonna have him use those once or twice as a last resort type thing. heck, Final Form might be the only one he uses in the story, and only at the tail end.

Okay do you have any ideas based on my scenarios listed above?

I've only gotten one story onto EQD, and that's before they raised their standards. I wanted to have my King Arthur story get on it but they were so hung up on how the prologue was distracting that it didn't get in.

Also, Kalloon, what is your avatar even of? It looks like a Quilava going berserk.

@crimson: You know, I don't know why there aren't more mlp crossovers with kingdom hearts. I eman, the entire premise of KH is "crossover with everything" pretty much, so you'd think it's be more common. But no, I know of only a single notable KH/MLP crossover.

and technically, that fic is actually a crossover with another massive KH crossover fic that the author has, so I'm not sure how much that counts...

It is a Quilava, yes.

The context is unimportant.

I think that because the KH side has a a lot of Yaoi Fangirls and they would outnumber the Original Flavor / Crossover crowd. Not why not on the brony side though.

The Law of Conservation of Detail won't save you from explaining why that particular quilava is brown.

I wonder how many Discworld crossovers there are. I know there are a few. But is fitting since Rincewind has cannonically been to other universe.

His Dark Materials would also be a good fit in that respect.

Yeah, the only KH crossover fic I read was rather disappointing.

I've been writing regularly for a good 12 or 13 years, but I can't imagine writing an MLP fanfic. It's just... not the sort of thing I write.

I have a really hard time wrapping my head around fanfic at all. The only way I can do it is set in a the world but with a totally different cast of characters.

@Blissey: really? i thought there would be more than mine. i also have this other fanfic idea where that "special world" Merlin prepared for Lea's keyblade training turned out to be a Marvel Universe and he runs into Spider-Man. there will be a voice actor joke.

Maybe you can practice with an Alternate Universe setting.

Sure and then we'll have Rikku meet Twilight while we're at it.
