My Little Mages. I can't wait.
Am I hurting? Am I sad? Should I stay or should I go?
I've forgotten how to tell. Did I ever even know?

The art in-game is slightly better than the art I saw earlier on.

Why do people insist on putting horns on humanized unicorns? I don't think that will ever not look weird.

-hugs Applelight- Don't worry. I couldn't really stay in it. Real life nailed me from it. -goes to comb Applelight-

(Answering my own question from a page or two back about myself ponified, I'd probably be a grey-bodied earth pony, mane of a fairly dark grey, eyes of red, and not 100% sure on the cutie mark, but probably something to the effect of showing my competence of Dwarf Fortress.)
It's a Demonic Lighthouse Slide! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I beg of you, Durza, make it so.

[up][up] Because they think it looks okay. I don't like the way it looks either, but who am I to stop them?

I prefer replacing horns with Pointy Ears, but I have a thing for Pointy Ears, so I'm biased.

Always wanted to try Dwarf Fortress. I've heard it uses ascii art though.

That'd be true dark.

I'd love to see an ascii Fluttershy or Octavia, thinking about it. -mauled by cheese block-

I tried playing Dwarf Fortress once. I stopped pretty quickly because I had no idea what the hell I was doing.

Yea, it does use ascii art, which takes a while to get used to.

Though fullscreen could help you, it does enlarge the icons a bit.
Oh, the thread? Don't worry, it's just dead.

The ASCII art was part of it, yeah, but the bigger issue was that it seemed like nothing was being explained. There wasn't any sort of tutorial that I could find, and so I ended up bumbling around for a while with no idea what the controls did or why.

That, too. The wiki helps with that, there's a guide or two for the first few times, and the rest's learned on the way (which will probably be littered with dwarf corpses and abandoned forts, but it is, after all, a roguelike, or at least inspired by them).

By the way NES, did you ever get around to playing Pickory?

I did... and massacred I was. I am no good at the I wanna be the guy-esque games. I likely won't record, due to the basis of me getting utterly steamed and unhappy, and generally failing for at least 200 parts. (I probably am not exaggerating here.)

So that would be a no-play? Fair enough. Rogues require very steep learning curves anyway.

Oh well. Sorry about that. How far did you get?

I only made marginal progress on the portal level. (The underwater level ruined me, and the other areas proved bone-breakingly hard to access.) It's all right, but well, we all learned something.
