Stupid stupid essay...and they are going mad out there. They're chanting 'RUC scum out'. For the record, the Royal Ulster Constabulary is the name of the old force disbanded in 2000-2001 ish. Considered sectarian and an extension of the British occupying state. The current force is the Police Service Northern Ireland. Which was purposefully formed with as little RUC members as possible.

The protesters want all the 'Brits' out and a united Ireland...but, I guarantee that if there was that, they would be giving the Irish Republic police the same shit. These guys want to be a law unto themselves. You know self appointed 'community leader' types...it's that.

But, that's the part I don't get. If the RUC was considered an extension of the brits, and they're gone... is the new force also seen as a lot of brits, and people are just comparing them to the RUC because of that?

I agonize over the first 100-300 words for a couple hours, and then suddenly it's nightfall, I'm halfway done, and hungry as hell. Dunno how it's triggered, but...

I think I've gradually gotten worse at writing essays as my procrastination and perfectionist tendencies gang up to make sure I never get anything done.

Somewhere, Peeler is looking at the situation in Trottingham and being terribly torn between ranting and raving about the stupid twats, and thanking his starts he was clever enough to move before it all broke out.

Meanwhile, Pip is assisting an attempt to earn a 'undercover agent' cutie mark.

(I'm deliberately avoiding engaging in an actual conversation, as I will soon have to depart to murder the population of my hometown with an incredibly toxic gas.)

The population being contained within a Star Destroyer in a Role Playing Game, of course. Don't call the police.

Apple, just keep at the essay, I'm sure you'll knock it out. I was notoriously bad when preparing to write papers in that after reading my reference materials, I'd pretty much slip into steam of consciousness when writing rather than doing the whole bulleted list thing. Somehow it worked though, largely because I knew the points I anted to make, I think.
