I saw the Great Gatsby this weekend. It was alright.
I also finished watching the last of the Harry Potter movies, which were better. I still have issues with the way the wizarding world runs things, but I imagine the books are more detailed.

None of your gosh darn business.
That's my dream. It's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor … and surviving.

Holding up okay myself to whoever asked how my day has been, but nothing of note lately has happened. I swear, bees make my walks really short.
It's a Demonic Lighthouse Slide! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I beg of you, Durza, make it so.

Rough doodles, in an attempt to get the creative juices flowing:
The Radio Saddle◊, random EP and Pegasus, and a trio of hogz.
More water wings◊. He's proving hard to draw...and he looks too much like Batty.
Yeah, the ease with which Voldemort took over everything is kind of one of my issues. Like, do they have no kind of standing military? Their leader is a minister, but democracy seems kind of out to lunch here. They leap whole hog into a Spanish inquisition meets Nazisism in a matter of months and nobody seems to be able to do a thing, if they even care.
I suppose it's kind of supposed to be a thing against british class-ism though, isn't it? The wizards are the upper class, so whatever the 'lower-class' muggles do obviously can't be worth their while, so they just kind of sit and stew in a psuedo-medieval stasis.

@Apple: coloring Water Wings like a penguin was clever. may i ask, which type of penguin did you use for the basis?
you're stronger than you think you are.

Rockhoppers.
They are bloody adorable!
I saw them in a zoo once. Just stood there watching them swim, play and flap about with a big grin on my face for half an hour...when I was 19.

@Kegi: The books make it clear that the wizards have serious issues that Dumbledore has been trying to sort out for ages (though he fell into similar traps when he was young). The movis are fun, but fans of the books like myself get annoyed by certain stuff (believe it or not, the movies actually make the wizards less incapable of functioning in normal society, which is one of my issues with them, becuase it misses some of the point.) HP!Wizards tend to be pretty idiotic.

I do want to read the books again, but I'm almost afraid that same point would make them that much more annoying. Even just setting aside the fact that I want to figure out how some of the supplemental stuff works that the books don't consider important enough to go into.
How are spells invented? And potions? How exactly do they make any kind of progress? Why aren't there more magical 'technologiues' in common use, since it seems like you can just enchant something and let it go?

@ Water Wings: I like. The green mane/fins and tail/flipper are a nice touch.
