The leaked song (if it is real) is probably an early version, so it'd be better to compare it to other songs' early versions rather than to their final versions from the actual episodes.

@boobuseter Huh, I expected that message to bring a spark of happiness to my day. Instead it just fills my heart with a sense of imminent doom.

I'm surprised that more kids' shows aren't out on video in general. I mean dude, market. It's THERE.

Does anyone remember that one fanart/ has a link to it? It's called 'for you' (or something close) and it involves Rarity levitating an umbrella above an obliviously happy Sweetie Belle.

I don't have time to catch up, unfortunately, I gotz essays. What'd I miss?
-Mr. Nomura, are you trolling your fanbase?

Nomura: Maybe. That is a plot point and I want fans to speculate. *laughs.*

Also, when Daniel Ingram mentioned "trying to impersonate [him] on YouTube" I think he was talking about accounts like this. From what I can tell, he didn't confirm or deny whether the song itself is official or not.

Oh, somebody 'leaked' a Pinkie Pie song and there's been a huge kerfluffle over it.

I really thought that the voice sounded like hers - but given how little I care about pinkie I may just not pay that close attention to her. Either way though, I absolutely love the song.

[up] Oddly it's the fans that are in more a 'kerfuffle' and mostly of the, "don't do shit that'll get the show runners in trouble" type. God I love this fandom.

As to the DVD vs Blu-Ray release thing, they BETTER release it in DVD, whether or not they d a Blu-Ray set, not everyone has a Blu-Ray player, but anyone with a Blu_ray can use it for regular DVD's....right? Not everyone has money for not only the player, but a TV advanced enough to notice the difference

I don't get all the "plot was too predictable" comments. I mean obviously, they were going to get back together, but I didn't anticipate the exact manner it would happen.

Personally, the only episode I found too predictable was Sonic Rainboom. Once Rarity and RD were the last ones left, I could see the entire rest of the episode already.

While people are talking about the new episode I just wanna state my opinion of it again.

Character Derailment of Rarity is bad. Bad. Bad. Bad.

I see Rarity as artsy, OCD, and a bit vain, while simultaneously a Large Ham that's devoted. That's pretty consistent.

A pic on memebase put it perfectly. "Element of Generosity. Is told she needs to stop thinking about herself."

http://bronies.memebase.com/2011/11/05/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic-brony-maybe-applejack-was-lying-again/

Her vanity and fashionista traits were flanderized horribly to make the conflict possible, while for the entire first two thirds of the episode her defining character trait, generosity, was ignored by the writers.

That does sound a LOT like the voice singing the smile song.

Doesn't necessarily prove anything though; I've heard someone do a Fluttershy imitation that could give a weaker person diabetes.

[up][up]Well at this point all mane cast members have betrayed their element at some point.

But Rarity was indeed generous.

She Got dirty with Mud (that is a pretty big deal for her, ) for her sister just to make her sister happy. now that's being generous.

[up][up][up][up]I'm just going to note that I think her frustration was at least partially justified, but I'm not going to do a detailed writeup on it because I'm doing another one of my review things that should be done by tomorrow.

But the main thing is that:

  1. I think she had reason to be at least sort of angry

  2. Being angry at someone for causing problems doesn't necessarily relate directly to generosity.

But more on that later.

[up][up][up] Lol, yeah the mud part was extremely generous.

In the other episodes, at least the ones I can think of where they betrayed their elements, it usually happened for a reason and you could see the progression that led to that choice, like with Fluttershy at the gala, or Applejack lying about not needing help in Applebuck season. In this episode it just, sort of happened.

I see no betryal of her element, being generous doesn't mean you have to give away/up everything for anypony, you can set limits. At no point was she selfish or greedy, the issue wasn't that she wasn't willing to be generous with Sweetie Belle, it was that she just didn't understand what Sweetie really wanted until it was to late.

[up] And with Applejack 'lying' in Applebuck Season, I really don't think of that as lying, she legitimately believed she could do it on her own, the only pony, if any, she was lying to was herself, and those types of lies are always the hardest to notice yourself doing.

I wouldn't call it derailed. The staff tries to present these characters as having fully-developed personalities, they can't always show why they represent their power all the time.

I also think it's mitigated by the fact that Rarity realizes on her own that she's been a bit of a bitch, and immediately drops what she's doing to make up for it.

Well Sweetey did mess a lot of things up, despite good intentions.

But Rarity can't blame her, no! Because she had gooood intentions!
