I think ponies could do striking arts, Silat in particular. I know ponies have a powerful kick, though I'm not sure how flexible they can be. But if they could focus that power into a refined strike to the vitals or joints, it would be a quick fight.

That reminds me of one time at chess camp when the assistent played a simul against everyone there (with no rooks or queens, rather than a standard game). I decided to play symmetrically to try to force a draw, and managed to get a draw. Every single other person lost. So I was pretty happy, even though I didn't win.
