@dark: It started off as this, surreal, random humor show, but then started adding a surprising amount of depth. But since it's primarily a comedy, it ultimately depends on your sense of humor.

@Dark: What I've seen of Adventure Time is really hit or miss, at least for me. Sometimes it's hilarious, but other times it focuses too on trying to be ridiculous and it comes across as trying to hard. I've heard that it has a lot of depth of character, but I personally haven't seen much. Then again, I've only seen about a dozen episodes from the first few seasons, so I might just have not gotten to it yet. Still, it's so absurd that I find it really hard to ever take it seriously.

You'd think a dozen episodes should be a pretty good number from which to draw a conclusion. I mean, if you randomly pick a dozen episodes out of whatever they offer, then you'd most likely get a representative impression of the show as a whole.

Adventure Time hits its stride with certain writers in seasons 2 and 3, but since they've left the show now, it's gone back to really surreal stuff that isn't quite to my taste.
