RE: Equestria Girls — The characters keeping their original coloration looks awkward, but I think there's a very good reason for it. Since the beginning of the show, the fan artists have been imagining what the Mane Six would look like as humans,
including their skin color. Hasbro would rather avoid having to provide a canonical
realistic answer to that question, because of the inevitable
Fan Dumb eruption that would follow:

Until you consistently hear more talk about How Much This Sucks than about How Awesome It Is That It Even Exists, it's not a real fandom.
We saw Twilight's. She's skinny and curvy, purple tinted skin, same eyes and ears as her pony self, and her CM has been moved to her clothes. She's got a shirt and skirt, and boots. Seems to be hit and miss.

Personally I've never gotten the fuss over what race the girls are Humanized as... but I don't get why nobody ever makes Dash greek. I mean seriously!
@Kyler: If you misread it the way I think you did, that's the sexy place.
@Apple: I think it looks good, though I'll admit I really did like his dreds. Still, if ill-tempered he be, skinhead may be the best bet, heh.
I guess I'd need to see it to be sure, but it certainly sounds like it'd work.
While we're on the Greek theme, Twilight or Celestia would make an excellent Athena.
If we're going with Roman, then Luna would be Diana.
Or if we're going into others, she'd be good as Inanna.

I was under the impression that the Greek and Roman gods were identical, just given different names. That is to say, there's no difference between Artemis and Diana.

True for the most part, but the Romans also adapted gods from several other religions as well. But the conversions were always direct, from what I understand.

I'm glad they went with putting the symbol on her wardrobe, though. Cheek tattoos looked hella weird.
Humanized RD should be called Diana, if she isn't still called Rainbow Dash.
