This is true. According to the shipping chart, we have a 67.4% Gayness rating.

Huh. According to the doc, Twilight and Fluttershy have been shipped with more different characters than Rainbow Dash. Dash still has the highest total though.

And X with Rainbow Dash makes up the top three shipping pairs by number.

The only difference I tend to see with that is that, if they're married, they get shipped a lot less, but the pairings stray far, still.

Most people who like Cadance tend to like Shiny as well and consider them a cute couple. And those who ae willing to split them up usually do it because they want to ship Shiny with Chrysalis or Twilight rather than because they want to ship Cadance with anypony (though she gets shipped with them as well).
