Twilight saga problem wasn't fact that author went to far with her interpretation but screwed up it or maybe even it was only story problem. Adventure Time have liberal interpretation of vampires and it is awesome.

Even look how MLPFIM treat some mythological creatures. In that context you can make Lich or Vampire. Fallen demigod could create such creatures whatever original owner of body wanted it or not.

@Yeller: don't sing that, Asmodeus was vowing to issue VIP handbaskets with spikes in to that Black girl and all who sing her accursed song so's they can enjoy their descent into Gehennom. And yes, some of the spikes are placed in very uncomfy spots.

@Sereg: I'd suggest something, but pretty much everything I could think of has been mentioned already.

Although you could try doing a more folklore informed version of a zombie

rather than the zombie movie type.

Just looked up a Nuckelavee Posey, and JESUS I do not blame you. Sounds freaky as all else.

If you're looking for undead horsey-things, it's not technically undead, but a Kelpie might suit your purpoes, in a sort of downed-spirit way.
