I think I heard somewhere that the design for her was used in the Cutie Mark Chronicles?

Twilight Velvet, Twilight Sparkle's mother, has a similar look to G1 Twilight but not quite the same. Velvet has a white coat & blue eyes while G1 Twilight has a pink coat & purple eyes. They both have white & purple hair, though Velvet's hair has a very similar hair style to her daughter while G1 Twi, like many G1 ponies, has '80s Hair. Velvet has three purple stars for a cutie mark while G1 Twi has a few more stars much like how G1 Applejack has more apples on her rump. Velvet has no tail bow.

If it's chocolate chip muffin flavored, why is the ice cream purple? Looks more like blueberry to me.

OK, that would be hilarious. Especially for Applejack. While all the insanity's going on, she tries to stay stoic, but over time starts headbucking the wall in an attempt to get out.
