I took band when I was in middle school... learned the French Horn. Never kept up with it because I never much cared for the format of the class... I've been considering buying a keyboard and learning Piano, though. I'd have to wait until I can afford a decent keyboard, of course, which could take a while. The idea of learning music is much more palatable knowing it'd just be me plunking away, rather than how much I can do it being partly contingent on how good my classmates are. Nothing was more frustrating then actually feeling good about the song only to have someone cock it up and we'd all have to stop, and wait, and start over.

Re: Music: I can play piano fairly well. Unfortunately, and in a rather ironic fashion, while I was actually taking lessons I thought it was incredibly boring. Then when I started getting back into music and actually wanted to play I didn't have the time to practice.

That is pretty much my life. I have a much greater interest in basically everything I ever studied (programming, Japanese, music, physics, math) now that I'm not actually in school. I guess being forced to learn something makes it much less enjoyable.
