I thought of putting some drops in the cheese as it's cooling, but not sure if that'd work. Cake is easy as you can just bake the pot in the cake and same for the butter on the grilled cheese.

It sounds like a classic stress headache, Apple. Yours seem to manifest themselves in your eye. Between your uni work and your mom, I'd be surprised if you didn't have a headache.
Try doing something that usually relaxes you. I don't think working on your story would be the right thing to do right now.

No need for shenanigans to get Twilight high, just sell the idea to her as an experiment to see the effect drugs have on magical abilities.

Twilight is a college student. She tried to drink i nthe first episode. Methinks you wouldn't need to slip her drugs.
As for all this nonsense about Tealove not being epic, well, there's no kidding around about a well-brewed pot of tea, you know. Those leaves are not at all easy to come by.

My fanon is that some of the more exotic teas grow in the Everfree Forest, and Zecora harvests them for Tealove.
