Could a doctor pony highly pro efficient in anatomy magic switch genders?

Good question. I don't see why not.

@Dark: I'm pretty sure that genderflipping is something that was supposed to be impossible, hence why Trixie was so surprised when Twilight seemingly pulled it off. The whole idea was to fake a spell that Trixie couldn't do even with the amulet so that she'd want to switch. The "only possible for really power unicorns" thing was an age spell.

I dunno, Magic Duel seemed to imply that things like that are extremely high-tier. That and to my knowledge we've never actually scene a body modification spell performed on a pony. Unless I'm forgetting something (which I may well be), pretty much all the unicorn spells have been limited to modifying manes/tails. The only exceptions are in Magic Duel, which again is limited to uber-tier magicians. Having a pony capable of doing something like that is implicitly hinting that they're comparable to if not better than Twilight, which would really be pushing it.

I can say it's one of his highest powers, and one not done lightly. That can't be reversed for three days. The story potential is massive.

Oh and maybe he can turn ponies into other ponies...except for their CM.

She did turn a bird into an orange... so changing sexes probably isnt that much more difficult?

She turned an animal into a fruit... male to female is probably simpler because its not changing the Kingdom of the organism.

@Turtle: That's true, but even so genderflipping is treated in universe as being nigh-impossible.

Maybe the fact that ponies are magical makes the spell more difficult or something.

Perhaps its not nigh impossible its just such an uncomfortable subject that nobody has really looked into it?

Or the rumor is that its impossible so nobody actually tries it?

Maybe it's because the magic involved in such a drastic change has to compete against willpower and the target's inherent self-identity.

Maybe it's because magic has arbitrary rules that don't make a whole lot of sense.

Magic hasn't really been given many limits outside of the overall power and knowledge of the practitioner.

Japan should like that episode. If what I've heard is correct, the popularity for Applejack is pretty high.

Mayor mare has failed to bring in the Winter Wrap-up on time two years, running, and if it hadn't been for Twilight it'd have been three! She relies on a private farmer to fund public buildings, and outsources most of her management, ie. her job, to civil servants from another city! IT's like she wants Ponyville to gt annexed!

No, Ponyville deserves a change! Ponyville deserves Mayor Stallion!
