Not pony related, but is Gravity Falls any good? If anyone's seen it, is it at least somewhat comprehensible without the visuals?

Well, I know that I enjoy the series, but I'm not entirely certain how much of the content depends on visuals. I think there's a few sight gags here and there?

Gravity Falls is a great show. Much of the humor is verbal, but it has does also have a lot of sight gags and visual clues to its overarching story.

Oh lordy, ya reminded me of that particular Pinkie... "Those worms were highlanders!" comes to mind off the bat, along with another line involving poison lobsters. (Don't ask how poison lobsters work. I also sat through I think a couple showings of Rainbow Dash presents was it? They're basically fanfics being read by the Mentally advanced Rainbow Dash, and I have to say I kinda liked the Rainbow Dash version of the fics more.)

Friendship is Witchcraft was better. Voice acting higher quality with some voices similar to show, and better quality of production plus it was funny some times. But still boring compared to original episode.
It's proof that Abridged Series don't work with shows what are already good and comedic. Maybe they should do Abridged versions of older gen MLP shows. I think I still to fan animation for MLPFIM. Maybe I will check Rainbow Dash Presents.

Death Cloud: try Camaraderie is Supernatural. it's from the same people who do Sonic F. and the Rainbow Dash Presents series is hilarious, especially Rainbow Dash Presents: Captain Hook the Biker Gorilla.
