Even Applejack isn't quite sure how this happened. My guess is that alcohol was involved.

Wasn't it in Magic Duel? Or was that just one of Twilight's tricks?

I'd find it a bit odd if gender bending magic doesn't exist. Once you can turn a bird into an orange, changing someone's sex shouldn't be too difficult.

Some took the scene as an implication that it doesn't exist, I'd say it's just tricky.

As for the orange thing, in a way I'd think completely altering something's form would actually be easier than slightly modifying it but keeping it mostly the same, due to the precision. Plus, those oranges don't work like oranges. In order for a Gender-bender spell to work you'd have to make everything work right. Tricky stuff.

Post of the Day #348

Okay, this is kinda random, but I stumbled across this, and using it to read the pages pages about ponies is way funnier than it should be. Seeing Celestia constantly referred to as "Supa Hoe" is really amusing.

OK, two blind people lost at midnight in LA is not fun. Especially when one's going through a depressive episode and the other a pTSD-enduced flashback. Ain't life an adventure?

I once got lost in the middle of New York City at 3am. Fortunately I wasn't lost for long.

I didn't learn of this tragedy until around 11:30 last night, from a thread on snopes.com.

I learned about it when I happened to see it mentioned on Facebook. I don't watch the news.

Even if a gender-bender spell doesn't exist yet, I don't doubt that Twilight could do it with a year's worth of dedicated research, if she wanted to.

It also depends on the nature of the r63 spell in question.

A simple, crude transmutation that reformats your body along some prefab r63 template is ''easy'.

A more involved reformatting that gives you a gender-flipped appropriate body-shape, a little trickier.

Something that not only does that but also alters your perception so you don't get unbalanced by the sudden mass-shift and new shape, that's kinda hard.

As for True Change spells that permanently alter your gender at the Fundamental level and apply the change outwards, that's the hardest spell of this type.

It's also possible that magic has weird rules where some types of effects are arbitrarily harder than others.

@Yeller: Generally it's harder for magic to target something that has a will of its own. Easier to enchant a statue than a Golem. Easier to zap a corpse or a zombie than a sleeping man.

I once got lost in Vegas at 3pm. That might not seem so bad, but this was during the one week of the year where Vegas has enough humidity to match the heat.

It wasn't very pleasant.
