I liked what I saw of the explanation, even in #5. It's the right blend of dark forces and emphasizing that it still came down to Luna's choice in the end.
I have a message from another time...

I could certainly do that for you.

Not to spoil too much, but having read the leaked version of Issue 6 I have a feeling they're not "done" explaining the origins of Nightmare Moon. I do want to see more of the Nightmare Forces, I wonder if they'll be referenced in the cartoon at any point.

Speaking of the comics, news! Synopsis for Issue 9 (the start of the third Story Arc) and Applejack's spotlight! It looks like July will be the unofficial Apple Family month!

@Irish: i have a wild mass guess going that Aku, black blood, and the Venom symbiote all spawned from the same entity.

that, or the weird plasma things from Megaman 8. I still maintain Shadow Pokemon until proven otherwise.

Huh, so the comic's third story arc is going to be Lower Decks Episode? I wonder if they'll stick to established side characters like Big Mac and Cheerilee or if they'll dip into some of the background ponies.

I'm thinking about what to have for dinner. Should I heat up some frozen mozzarella icks, or some dreaded chicken parmagiana patties?

Never watched Soul Eater, but I agree that the Venom symbiote could have come from it. Seriously, "monster born from scary black space gloop" needs to be a trope if it's not already.

"The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that you can never know if they are genuine." ~ Abraham Lincoln.

I thought it was Oscar Wilde that said that.

Yes, I am absolutely certain Walt Whitman said that.

@Syd: I'm generally not a fan of icks, no matter what sort of cheese you put in them.

What really gets me is all those old quotes attributed to anonymous. Do they think I'm stupid? I know 4chan wasn't around back then.

Hey Apple, if your comic ever gets off the ground would you ever consider writing a short description of the pictures? It wouldn't have to be much, just a short few sentences.

Do you read Darths & Droids? It's one of the few webcomics I know that even tries.

Am I odd for finding that Luna image... slightly creepy? I mean, considering she can go into your dreams, that says odd things to me. It's an unspoken "I'll be there"... for good or ill.

[up]Literally every human endeavor has been for sex. Why do you think everything is so complicated? Because it's impressive. Impressive is sexy.
