Pranks are generally not fun for me. I am known for being very funny and have a good sense of humor, but not when the punchlines makes you feel bad. It's like that moment in the Nostalgia Critic's commercial specials when he watches one that involves a woman talking about finding a cure for cancer, and then have it reveal that it's actually her watching herself on TV and saying "I can't wait until the day I announce that." Critic reacts by saying that "no! No I don't care what else you have to say! You totally threw me off with that 'cure for cancer' thing and now ya lost me at whatever you're advertising!", and proceeds to the next commercial.

I finally caught up! Wooooooo

Turns out there were only like 5 episodes left as I stopped watching. The one with Discord was pretty dumb and the finale was kinda cheesy at parts, but I really enjoyed the rest of those episodes.

I'm kinda curious what the reaction was like when Alicorn Twilight happened. Was it already leaked before or was the episode the first time for everyone in the audience? Did jaws collectively drop or were eyes ripped out of sockets and rolled across the floor? Alicorn party?

No, everyone knew about Alicorn Twilight even a few weeks before the finale aired. After it aired....... fans were generally not pleased, NOT because the idea is a bad one, but how the story went about explaining it.

FACT: Apparently, the voice of Twi in PONY.MOV and Double Rainboom is Kira Buckland, who has played the title role of Madoka in the official dub, as well as characters in Skull Girls, Fighting Is Magic, and Blue Exorcist!!! NICE!!!

I still kick myself for reading about Princess Twilight before I watched the episode. I have a feeling I would have liked Magical Mystery Cure a lot more if it had had the chance to surprise me.

@Fawriel: Yeah, it was leaked a few weeks before airing. There was some initial drama over it, but once the episode aired general consensus was the the fact that Twilight turned into an Alicorn was fine, but that the event needed a two-part episode to fully explore the implications of both the destiny switch and the alicornization. Basically, the substance was fine, but it was squished down too much.

Good thing season 4 will deal with the alicornization, at least. Am I in the minority for thinking the episode's fine as it is?

I hope this doesn't change anything about the dynamics of the series. It's good when it just does the thing where it makes me laugh. Princessy shenanigans sound suspiciously like they're going to run counter to that.

I'm hoping Twi uses her royal authority and royal budget to expand the Ponyville library and start founding schools. Turn Ponyville into the science and research capital of Equestria.

I think it might have been better that it was leaked as it allowed the fandom to calm down beforehand.

The writers have many times stressed that the group dynamic won't change, and their friendship will stay the same.

Honestly, I'd prefer that things did change. It would be a bit weird if every other character acted like Twilight wasn't suddenly an immortal goddess princess thingy.
