AJ could carry an episode, they just haven't done a good job of it. AFR would have been fine if they cranked up the rest of the family's reaction beyond mild annoyance.

I guess it's a case of AJ showing the right traits and scenarios here and there, but never the right combination all at once. As said, there are signs of life, but I think the show struggles writing main roles for her. Since Season Two, there's always been some element underplayed about them in a way, compared to a lot other characters' episodes, where nearly everything manages to flow rather well.

Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, they are so adorable.

Scootaloo, on the other hand...well, cute, but she never made me go "HHHNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!!" yet, not even during Sleepless episode.

1. A Cheerilee episode

2. An Applejack episode that actually focuses on her and not on the Apple family as a whole.

3. More Zecora

4. A CMC episode that doesn't mention cutie marks, and that involves the mane cast members.
