Considering the Fandom was willing to adopt the name Tom Dan for Rarity's rock after the show nerfed the original name, I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to do the same thing for Lyra and simply adopt both for "Lyra Heartstrings".

About turning tropers into ponies, I would be obvious (Rainbow) although I'd need a different additional word so I wouldn't be confused with Rainbow Dash. Maybe Rainbow Notes and I could have music notes as a cutie mark because I like music and singing.

Tom Dan? Really? One simple name is funny in its normalcy. Putting two together just makes it sound busy (also awful). Not to mention the implication that the fandom is too "something" to accept the canon name of an object that has existed for all of a week.

@ginger: I think pony culture just has different naming standards than we do. They would probably think the same thing about our names, or at least the ones that aren't other words. And how is that any different than people being named Ruby or Hope or having Miller or Smith as surnames? Those latter two used to mean something, they were meant to be job descriptions. Characters like Pony Joe would probably be seen as weird in pony culture for having names that don't obviously mean something.

I'd probably just get a little irritated and explain to her WHY I find her so annoying. She'd probably respond with something like: "but that's just who I am" and then I'd leave. Whether or not she'd throw me a party later or leave me be I'm not sure, but there are plenty of other ponies whom I'd like to meet

I wouldn't be a massive dick to her, I don't want her friends to hate me

Some writers are much better at portraying Pinkie's... quirks than others. If my first encounter with her character was in "Luna Eclipsed, " my impression would be that she's an immature jerk.

Remember when I said I liked to go archive binging? I recently read the one on 4chan where they talked about Stare Master. The part that I was looking for was when people began commenting on the revelation that Sweetie and Rarity are related, and I wasn't dissapointed; more than 30+ posts afterwords were just people screaming 'SIS????' over and over.

It made my day.

I'd say it's more the role she serves to the plot, combined with her personality (I know my reasoning changes like the seasons, but I'm lucid now so I think this could be the proper explanation) that rubs me the wrong way

I think I'd tolerate her a lot more in a casual scenario

So I'm curious. The Fi M wikia is current having a minor revolt because the admins changed the names of the articles on background ponies to reflect the blindbag toys despite not looking much like them. What's going to be the policy here?
