I do wonder how much time has passed since the first episode. IF we take Winter Wrap Up as reference, and if memory serves right Hearth's Warming Eve also takes place in winter, and One Bad Apple involves a summer celebration, then two years have passed? B Ut Discord and Sombra were dealt with by the princesses "1000 years ago, " how is that even possible. Clearly at least one year has past, so how can Luna help Celestia for Discord or Sombra? Granted Discord might have been a few months and a thousand years so a bit before Luna became Nightmare Moon, but there's no way Luna could have helped with the Crystal Empire. Unless Celestia was being a bit vague with the date, there's no other way to explain it.

She could just be rounding up the years. "About a 1000, eh, close enough."

Reminds me of that thing in Xiaolin Showdown where it was actually 962 years, but everyone just says "a thousand" because it sounds more dramatic.
