Hm. Upon looking at an ad for my town's Hastings, someone seems to be of the opinion that Rainbow Dash is best pony. She's on the example belt buckle, socks, wallet...

They're not really algae either. They're fungi.

you know one thing I love about Mlp Fim? Despite the fact that their pony's, the charectors actually feel like real people. They just feel alot more real then charectors in most other tv shows, who usually just feel like props. There's just so much depth to them, and their flaws make them entertaining and likeable rather then annoying {RD especially}.

In most tv shows you can just define a charector by what their role is {I.E. "That's the funny guy, that's the jerk jock, that's the nerd, that's the slut, that's the emo guy, that's the cowboy/cowgirl, that's the really shy girl and that's the hero of the story"}, but while the charectors in mlp fim do fill those roles {Except for the emo guy and the slut tongue}, they have so much more to their personalitys then just sterotypes and props that the plot uses. They have actual personalitys and are generally more complex then your average fictional charector. You can tell that the writers put alot of effort into their personalitys and they succeeded at making them entertaining. It's a shame that more shows don't put this kind of effort into their charectors and would rather go the lazy uncreative route instead.

Sometimes I wonder if having multiple writers helps with that, since different people have different takes on the character.

Yeah, I like the fact that the characters really reach the point where they can exist on their own; like writing them is less a case of the writer thinking "I think they should do this" and more thinking "what would they do in this situation?".

I've always thought that a good character is one who writes itself.
Oh, the thread? Don't worry, it's just dead.

Weeping.

Brutaloo.
That's my dream. It's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor … and surviving.

Mostly listening to traditional Celtic and Celtic metal to get in the spirit. Like this for example. Then again, I love Celtic music in general so guess it's just another day for me.

Dinner is themed for the occasion. Corned beef, sauteed cabbage, soda bread, and mashed potatoes.

We have some Irish heritage, so my mom doesn't like most of the other stuff about the holiday (leprechauns and all that)
I have a message from another time...

So, Lightning Dust didn't just endanger five random ponies. She endangered the elements of harmony, who are not only close to Princess Celestia; but to Princesses Cadance and Luna as well. Indeed, the entire crystal empire. All of pony ville is friends with Pinkie.

Lightning Dust jeopardized the safety of all of equestria.

No wonder she was reprimanded so harshly.

I still think that LD was simply sent to another training camp to learn how to not be reckless; how to coordinate her flying better with slower pegasi, and so forth. You don't just let someone with that much potential go wasted when you can fix what's wrong.

I mean, the wonderbolts were training some rather slow ponies that I assume must have been good at the whole "coordinating with other pegasi" and "not being reckless" thing; so I assume that the Wonderbolts use their testing to find the strengths and weaknesses of their pegasi and then work on the weaknesses.

If I was Spitfire, I'd much rather go with Boring, but Practical pegasi that are good at coordination rather than the most talented. Even among the best of the best, talent only goes so far.

If anything you'd want ponies that are good at both coordination and talented. Or different ponies with different skill at different things. Heck, a big part of the Wonderbolts Academy was the recruits learning to coordinate effectively.
