Mouse Trap was my favourite board game.

Is Mouse Trap available in other countries or is it just a weird British thing?

I know what Mousetrap is, but I've never actually played the game, in favor of just setting of the Rube Goldberg Device over and over.

Also, Catan Catan Catan.

Mouse Trap is available in South Africa. Seen it on the shelves. looks like fun, but never played. Others I really like include Opinions, Balderdash and 30 Seconds.

Oh, and Applelight. I like your Doc. He seems cute.

EDIT:[up]Seems like a fun game, but not exactly something you can get off the shelf here.

Pony Monopoly? I can hardly get behind that. Mostly because Monopoly simply isn't much fun, and too focussed on making your fellow players miserable.

@J Teeth: Settlers of Equestria, set in the time of the Hearth's Warming Eve play. Someone should really fund that.

My family used to have it and we're American.

What about Puerto Rico or it's simpler SF cousin Race For The Galaxy? I don't have RFTG, but I think it's pretty fun. And I think you could make pony themed ones if you tried.

@ picture of big-breasted Pinkie: That reminds me of Shii from Puni Puni Poemi. Which makes me wonder if anyone ever ponified those characters.

And that pony Monopoly thing looks like something I would like when it comes out. Although I tend to play it by myself where I play as a bunch of different characters (including My Little Pony characters) or do it with my dad and we split the characters between us, so it's less about personal competition and more about playing as characters.

Your dad sounds really fun. My parents are too self-conscious to goof around anywhere near that, even when I was little.

You use Monopoly as a roleplaying game?

I don't get it. Is she trying to be a vaudiville performer or something?

For whatever reason, she's been tasked with performing magic, but that's obviously a problem since she's not a unicorn.

I wonder just how versed the ponies are in presdiigitation? I mean, Twilight pulled one over on everyone with a bit of it, but she was a unicorn so they expected 'real' magic, plus she used actual magic along with it.

Having just watched Oz The Great And Powerful, I find myself wondering just how the ponies would react to an earth pony using sleight-of-hoof and stage magic, passing himself off as having 'real' magic?

@storyyeller: Not a "role playing game" in the typical sense, but I very rarely play it where I play as myself. I think it's more fun to play it as other characters, and it's probably because I grew up doing that, where I would play games (either with someone or by myself) and play various characters' parts. I pretty much grew up playing character roleplay in general (not just with board games, but with acting out characters), sometimes by myself and often with my dad. Of course, that doesn't really work with a game where one needs to keep certain things secret, but it works for something like Monopoly fairly well. Even Calvin from Calvin And Hobbes does that too, although he ends up getting in fights with Hobbes and cursing.

@Pykrete: Yeah, he is. He's definitely not the type to be embarrassed about that kind of thing, and he's also the main person I watch My Little Pony episodes with if I'm going to watch it with someone (I've shown my mom some of the episodes too but she tends to be more busy), so he's also pretty familiar with the characters. I'm very lucky to be friends with both of my parents (which is why even when I get a job, I would still probably want to keep living with them so far as I know right now), and every time I read about other people having bad family relations here, it serves to remind me even more of how lucky I am.

I guess the fact that I'm close to my family is yet another way that I'm similar to Applejack, along with the fact that I think that the element of Honesty fits me best because of my blunt honesty.

@Dragon: Dash has some thunder thighs in that picture.

@Keg: I'd guess it's present, but not as popular because watching unicorns perform actual magic is probably more popular. My guess is that it would be mainly and EP or Pegasus thing. It would be too easy for a unicorn to fake.

How was it? Anyway, I can't help but think of Trixie every time I hear the title.

The ponies do have some concept of stage magic, given what Trixie does, but in her case, she actually can do magic. Twilight and her friends also did some stage magic in Magic Duel that is closer to real-life stage magic, though. And we saw Snips and Snails attempting to do a more traditional magic show that used sleight of hand instead of their unicorn magic in The Show Stoppers.
