Yeah I am so so happy to hear that it's open to all ponies.

So all one has to do is to do something awesome not done before in the name of other ponies?

The book contradicts Magic Duel and Games Ponies Play, so I probably won't consider it canon.

I will, however, consider all the stuff about Cadence and alicorns canon. Because, hey, canon is incredibly arbitrary anyway, so I might as well cherrypick.

[up][up]That, combined with a great deal of magical energy being unleashed.

[up]The details it contradicts seem to be so small that they have no affect on the story itself. Easiest thing to do is to say that the story is canon except that Trixie has met Twilight a second time before this, and Twilight has been to the Crystal Empire a second time before this, both of which are rather inconsequential differences.

That gets tricky for an EP I think, but hey who cares? This information is just awesome!

Wish I had the book to see it first hand.

Well yeah, but apparently Trixie is still an antagonist, albeit a minor one. I mean the fact that she's not evil anymore kind of is a big flub.

Again, I'm not shouting to burn the novel or anything. This kind of continuity weirdness is going to naturally accumulate in multimedia, especially multimedia that has a long development time. Just that maybe we shouldn't be so eager to toot the flugelhorn at every turn.

One question...can boys become Princes? Did it hint at that?

I believe that all it said was Trixie was putting on a show, and was her usual, arrogant self. Not at all surprising considering her exit in Magic Duel.

Looks like Trixie fell off the wagon and is a villain again.tongue

Oh the irony.

@book: . . .minor details aside, I accept this outcome. We will see if it gets contradicted later.

The Strength of a good, pure heart of an earth pony was interesting, too

A beautiful heart, faithful and strong...

That reminds me. In MMC, AJ manages to completely regrow the orchard in under a day. More evidence of EP powers?

@ story

Yes! I've been saying that!

And so E Ps are strong of stature and character too right?

I like the idea of earth ponies being difficult to corrupt. Kinda like the opposite of the Men in Lord of the Rings.

Trixie being a show-off hardly means she's fallen off the wagon; Character Development isn't a linear thing.

I kinda just took as the musical montages don't correlate to how much time actually passes.

Yeah. This is all awesome. In Dn D I'd stat it as a wsidom bonus and bonus to will saves.

Also, I noticed something that gets slightly Harsher in Hindsight. Cadance desperately wanting her own family since she was small. Awwww!

She really is The Woobie, isn't she?

It certainly explains why SA's whole "You'll get a great sister, too!" thing worked. tongue

Wasn't that just a joke? It wasn't that Cadance literally wouldn't marry Shining Armour unless she'd get a sister as well.

Edit: Completely missed the smilie.

Re: that Japanese Pony display. The phrase "the queen of all ponies, Princess Celestia" amuses me to no end.
