Speaking of fanfics, are their any longish ones of good quality I can read? Having read Fo E, I guess I can take just about anything at this point. My internet over here isn't very great so it'll be easier downloading chapters I can read between Wi Fi crashes. So if anypony could, that would be great.

Eternal (The first few chapters are rather misleading—they give the impression that the story is going to angst about mortality. Then, Twilight and Celestia both freak the hell out, and the real meat of the story involves a Journey To The Center Of The Mind to find out why this happened.)
Earth And Sky (A few years in the future, Twilight, Rarity, and Apple Bloom invent mechanical wings. Shenanigans and a huge pegasus race ensue. It’s a sequel to a shorter fic, Windfall, so you may want to read that one first.)
The Final Quest of Star Swirl the Bearded (An earth pony rock farmer, a unicorn wizard, and a troupe of pegasus soldiers set off to reclaim a mountain from a dragon. It’s The Hobbit set in ancient Equestria, and it works.)
The Flight Of The Alicorn (Rarity participates in an airship race, which quickly gets derailed by political conspiracies and an ancient superweapon. Rarity becomes an action heroine, and Prince Blueblood becomes tolerable.)
Mendacity (Possibly the best “Bon Bon is a changeling” fic yet.)
Project Sunflower (Possibly the best “human in Equestria” fic yet.)
The Best Night Ever (FIM meets Groundhog Day. Prince Blueblood gets stuck in a time loop until he learns to not be a jerk.)
Hard Reset (FIM meets Groundhog Day meets Die Hard. Twilight Sparkle gets stuck in a time loop until she figures out how to stop dying and save Canterlot from a changeling invasion.)
Infernal Machines and Contraptionology! (It starts with Mad Science coming to Ponyville, and the craziness just escalates.)

I'll also recommend Dangerous Business, and another good one is It Takes A Village. I'd actually recommend ITAV over Business, really - it's very moving.

Oh yeah, It Takes a Village. That one's supposed to be really good. I should read that.

Though given my reactions to Romance Reports and Fallout: Equestria, whether I like anything is a bit of a crapshoot. On that note, there are a lot of people who will recommend Romance Reports if you ask them about good ponyfic. I honestly have no idea why.

@dark: if you want a longish story on the epic side of things, then I'd recommend The Powers of Harmony

. The mane 6 all get super powers based on their elements, epic world building outside of equestria, ancient plans from the time of NMM and ever older, even Granny freakin Smith gets to be a total badass!

I'm well aware, I just think that overall S3 didn't have as many that really stuck out, even taking the ratio into account. The episodes skew more towards the middle of the spectrum as opposed to S2 where more episodes were at the extreme ends.

You sure you have the right number of arrows there? Anyway, I thought TMPP was great. But YMMV of course.

Honestly, out of anything, I'd rather have had them sacrifice AFR. SAYS wasn't a stellar episode from a writing standpoint, but it was amusing enough that I don't really mind. It's kind of like "It's About Time" in that way; it's heavily flawed, but enjoyable enough that I don't care.

I'd say AFR should be first to go, possibly folloewd by Games. It's only redeeming value is that it finally answered the question about AJ's parents, and they could ahve easily done that some other way.

Apple Family Reunion is my least-favorite Season 3 episode. I expressed my opinion on Derpibooru the day the episode aired, and got raked across the coals for it.
